ACCESS TO PRÉ-LA-JOUX STILL CLOSED.
Due to a risk of rockfall on the RD 228A road, access to Pré-la-Joux and its parking areas remains closed for your safety.
On February 9, 2026, a major rockfall occurred in the Tres-les-Pierres area at around 2:30 p.m., causing significant damage to the slope (broken trees) and sending several boulders as far as approximately 50 meters from the homes located below.
An initial assessment revealed that a large section of rock remains overhanging, posing a high risk to nearby homes and to the departmental road RD 228a in the event of a further rockfall.
A team of geotechnical engineers was dispatched to assess the situation and propose emergency measures, and all parties involved are doing everything possible to restore normal conditions and secure the area.
We will keep you informed of developments and any new measures on this page.
