Le Printemps des Cimetières is celebrating its 10th anniversary!
Accessible via QR code: the origins of the current cemetery, monuments and headstones linked to the world wars, symbols in funerary art, and a brand-new exhibition on the relocation of the war memorial.
Description
The Spring of Cemeteries in Abondance: just a click away
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Spring of Cemeteries (8–11 May 2026), Abondance Abbey is offering a revamped visitor experience, centred on digital sharing and a living archive.
Echoing the national theme: a retrospective of previous editions, the Abbey is bringing its past research back into the spotlight. Using a QR code, you can access documents from previous editions directly on your smartphone. This is an opportunity to rediscover the rich funerary heritage of the commune of Abondance.
The highlight of this programme is a brand-new virtual exhibition. Through a series of photographs, you are invited to go behind the scenes of the spectacular relocation of the war memorial. These images bear witness to the changing role of remembrance within the village.
Whether you are visiting in person or simply curious about local history, this 2026 edition offers a glimpse into a heritage that is often overlooked.
A QR code is available at the cemetery, the town hall, the Abbey and the Maison du Fromage Abondance, near the war memorial and on our website.
